Summary:

Princess Cruises – We are currently searching for a highly motivated Business Development Manager, for Vancouver, BC, Canada. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales. While we prefer the position to be home based in the Greater Vancouver area, we would also consider candidates from other cities in the lower mainland region. Essential Functions:

  • Develops materials for training purposes to agencies on topics such as: OneSourceCruises.com (sales & marketing tools), programs, itineraries, product information and policies. Manage the sales processes and activities for travel agencies to meet established sales quotas.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Plan, develop, and initiate agency programs and activities to increase sales and promote group business.
  • Represent the company at local and national trade events; accompanies clients on-board to coordinate sales presentations.
  • Apply knowledge of sales and marketing techniques, company products, policies, and procedures to maximize sales.
  • Maintain high visibility within district and conduct in-person sales calls with agency owners, managers and agents.
  • Monitor the districts sales performance against budget.
  • Identify and report on industry trends.
  • Reviews Advertisements prior to disbursement by agencies to ensure that all rate offers, copyrights and disclaimers are accurate.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of college degree program in related field.
  • Five to seven years of outside sales experience in progressively responsible positions required, and preferably in the travel industry or demonstrated business development experience in another field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong sales presentations skills required.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral, a must.
  • Moderate to extensive travel required which may include some evenings and weekends.
  • A valid driver's license is required. 

Skills:

Bilingual fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is highly desired.
